California has been mightily beat up lately. Seen as a failed state, sometimes it feels like we're about four months away from making the cover of a 1975 tabloid. So how refreshing to read Daniel Indiviglio's wrap in the Atlantic of all the mortgage-related bills signed by Gov. Schwarzenegger last night. He quotes the LA Times: "AB 1160... requires that mortgage loan documents be written in the same language the verbal negotiations were conducted in." Yes, that's helpful. Natch, at least one commenter has already attacked the new laws. [LA Times/Atlantic]
