New, 2 comments

UCLA's Clark Library has the 2nd largest Shakespeare collection on the West Coast and now comes news of a big gift via a physicist at California's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Via the press release: "Valued at just under $2 million and consisting of 72 books published between 1479 and 1731, among them several printings of Shakespeare's works, the collection is the largest gift ever given to the rare book library, which was built in 1926 and is located in Los Angeles' historic West Adams District." Jacket Copy has more on the Clark, which it calls "L.A.'s best-kept literary secrets." [UCLA Press Room]
