Nadel Architects Behind Westwood's New Santa Monica Pavilion

New, 3 comments

No rendering is available yet, but an office building designed by Los Angeles-based Nadel Architects will rise at Santa Monica Boulevard and Overland, across from the Mormon Church. A strip mall (7-11/Mormon book store/cleaners/Mexican joint combo) and an office building were taken down by the owner of the land, Santa Monica Pavilion (also the name of the project). Going up: A three-story retail and office complex with underground parking (retail on the ground floor, and two levels of office space). Santa Monica Pavilion's Mark Larson says to expect an opening at the end of 2010. Another casualty, or victory, of progress: a huge billboard on this visually-polluted stretch of the Boulevard got the heave-ho in the course of this development going up.
