That's Rather Lovely: Midcentury Paul Williams In Brentwood

New, 13 comments

That's Rather Lovely, the nice twin of That's Rather Hideous, highlights clever decisions in interior design or architecture as revealed in photos or listings. Have a nominee? Say hello.

We've been in love with Crestwood Hills ever since we attended the MAK Center's A. Quincy Jones house tour a few years ago. While the community is best known for being flush with Historic-cultural monuments (16, all Jones' work) and the unsellable Wired LivingHome (still on the market), there is a Paul Williams gem hidden in them thar hills. According to the listing, the three-bedroom, two-bath plus office also features "clerestory windows for light & privacy w/walls of glass overlooking the canyon." The current owners are hoping to make a tidy profit on the home. They bought it in Jan 2007 for $1.43 million; today's asking price is $1.899 million.
