SILVER LAKE: If the latest construction shots of work at the new Silver Lake Library are confusing to look at, well, the whole building is getting a little hard to understand. You can see part of the glass large "room" behind the blue tarp, but it's not clear how everything else, like that big jagged piece, will look in the end. The exterior tile (first shot above) isn't winning us over, but judgment reserved till the project is done. And yeah, books and free wifi. [Curbed Staff]
WEST HOLLYWOOD: This 8-unit project by Lorcan O'Herlihy hit the market last spring, but there are currently 6 units listed on Redfin. Time for a new marketing push. A press rep writes: "We're having a nifty event at a new residential building we represent, and thought your readers might be interested in attending. It's at the new 8-unit condo/loft project at 7917 Willoughby Avenue in West Hollywood, designed by Lorcan O'Herlihy.
The event is next Thursday, Feb 5 from 6-9pm. We'll be featuring a selection of works by LA artist Daniel Maltzman, live models wearing Deborah LaFranchi's innovative bridal couture, and live music by The Bobby Haynes Blues Band...plus cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and valet parking. The event is being held in the penthouse units on the top floors, so space is somewhat limited, and thus an RSVP is necessary. Anyone interested in attending can email info@valeriefitzgerald.com, or call 310-777-6250." Drink up, readers. [Curbed InBox]
