Terrible news for anyone who still writes letters: Having lost $2.8 billion last year, the U.S. Postal Service is looking to save money and is considering dropping Saturday or Tuesday mail delivery (Tuesday mail flow is light, according to the Associated Press). "Total mail volume was 202 billion items last year, more than 9 billion less than the year before, the largest single volume drop in history." Meanwhile, Michael A. Crew, Rutgers University and author of "Handbook of Postal Reform," which advocates USPS privatization, tells CNN that the "real problem is that the Postal Service needs reform." [Daily News/CNN]
