Politician Michael Antonovich fought the passage of transportation-specific Measure R and he's still fighting. Covering yesterday's big Metro meeting, the Daily News's Sue Doyle reports: "County Supervisor and Metro board member Michael D. Antonovich cast the single vote against further study for the subway. He argued that the second alternative below Santa Monica Boulevard now under consideration by the board has not been discussed with voters and could siphon billions from other county projects. 'What you will see is this black hole where we're adding potential miles and miles of new subway that no one ever contemplated for the Westside extension," Antonovich said. "That will drain the other money for Measure R that the rest of the county could use." [Daily News]
