DOWNTOWN: With the opening of Rivera downtown, Jonathan Sedlar returns to the Los Angeles dining scene, Eater reports the menu includes "Spanish olives with 'a progression of stuffings,' handmade Nixtamal tortillas with 'Indian butter,' shiitake fideo with seared scallops, grilled prawns with Basque espellette pepper, pork cooked in banana leaves sous vide." You had us at stuffed olives.

SILVER LAKE: Eater provides new details on the space formerly occupied by Michelangelo's (which has subsequently moved to Rowena). The new restaurant will be Domenico Ristorante, "a classic neighborhood Italian bistro" with "a focus on organic and/or seasonal ingredients, sustainably farmed meats, and handmade pastas."

HOLLYWOOD: Amidst the magic tricks lies drama, lawsuits and restraining orders at the Magic Castle. Legal squabbles over the management of the landmark's food and beverage program have resulted in changed locks, a new phone line, and extra security guards to prevent "interference" by Magic Food and Beverage, who had previously been running the castle and Yamashiro. Maybe they can enlist the help of those magicians to make it all disappear.
