No Effing Way: No Cussing Teen Harassed

New, 28 comments

Last year, 15-year-old Pasadena resident McKay Hatch's No Cussing Club became the inspiration for the city's No Cussing Week, which was held March 3rd to March 7th "to bring awareness to the positive effects of using good language." Well, all is not well in cuss-free Pasadena. CBS13 reports that anti-no cussing web sites are cropping up, displaying Hatch's name, contact information, and urging harassment. The 15-year-old has received 22,000 e-mails in the last two weeks, reports the paper, and the South Pasadena police are now investigating. Hatch seems to be handling the whole incident in stride: "Hatch, meanwhile, says he has no intention of backing away from his effort. He's been working with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to make No Cussing Week a countywide event during the first week of March this year. At the end of this month, his first book, "The No Cussing Club," is coming out. 'A couple times I've gotten kind of down,' he said. 'But once we get a couple e-mails saying the No Cussing Club actually helped people, that keeps me going." [CBS 13]
