The Planning and Land Use Committee voted today to designate Griffith Park a historic-cultural monument, pushing it on to a full City Council vote. As previously covered, the great-grandson of Col. Griffith J. Griffith has applied for Historic Cultural Monument status for the park. If approved, it would make Griffith Park the country's largest historic landmark. [CBS2]
