On the Racked: Century City Mall, 1970s Flashback, Venice Whole Foods Opening Day Report

New, 24 comments

The latest store info and sidewalk scenes from street-obsessed Racked LA, the newest member of the Curbed family.

CENTURY CITY: The Century City mall has debuted its new parking lot system: Lights are suspended from the ceiling and glow red when a space is taken and green when a space is available. Even not-bright monkeys could figure out this system.

LOS ANGELES: Suit up, young scenesters.Thirty-five years ago, LACMA commissioned photographers to document LA street style for an exhibit 'LA Flash" and now the museum is doing it all again this Saturday, September 6 from 8pm-11pm. $10/ticket. That house behind the dude probably cost $40,000 back then, right?

VENICE: The onslaught of Whole Foods coverage continues! There are photos. And more photos. And reports of all the free wine. And one reader writes: "Whole Foods had the chutzpah to take on the corner of Rose and Lincoln and actually pull it off. Arugula, anyone?"
