Good news, Jay-Z fans: There's an update on, and new renderings of, Hollywood's Palladium. Last Thursday, the CRA board voted unanimously to fund the $2.5 million needed towards the facade rehabilitation. According to some news reports, there was some concern that the club, which will reopen its doors on October 15th (Jay-Z will open), wouldn't get the funding and the owners would have to "slap a couple coats of paint on the building, put up the old sign and walk away." Meanwhile, local architect Christopher Coe, AIA, LEED, is behind the renovation--here are the latest renderings. Let's learn more about Mr. Coe, shall we? Via the press release: "Coe originally came to LA as a design architect on the Getty Center for Richard Meier and on dozens of large scale projects at Gwathmey Siegel, Arquitectonica and Gruen prior to starting his own firm; he was also teaching assistant to the legendary Vincent Scully at Yale."
