Curbed Reader Comment Round Up

New, 15 comments

The best posts usually originate in our comments. To give appreciation to our amazing (and sometimes angry) commenters we feature their broad strokes of wisdom in a tidy comment roundup.

1) A Look At Your Renovated Hollywood Palladium "You know how to tell a rendering from a photograph in LA? A rendering always has lots of people walking on the street."

2) Reader Poll: Silver Lake Bungalow for $399,900 "I've noticed an interesting trend on Curbed, where if someone personally dislikes a specific part of an established neighborhood (Silver Lake, Venice, etc.), they then decided that it's not actually a part of said neighborhood. Since when do people get to re-define the boundries in accordance with their personal tastes?? 'The real Silver Lake' to you might mean cute shops, gelatto, and craftsman bungalows, but it probably means something different to a long time resident who has been around for a bit longer..."

3) NY lofts v. LA lofts "The hell makes SoHo so cultured? Because they have a Prada or Chanel store? A couple of cobblestone streets? SoHo is nothing more than LA's Historic Core, Arts District, and a couple high end stores from Rodeo Drive mashed together in a gentrified section of Manhattan. SoHo is nice but it isn't exactly leaps and bounds above DTLA and it certainly won't be in the future."
