L.A. Convention Center Getting Lit Up

New, 27 comments

Fans of bright, blinking ads will be pleased by this news: Yesterday, the LA City Council approved a motion to sell signage rights--what amounts to 50,000 square feet of ads-- for the L.A. Convention Center to AEG, developer of L.A. Live, reports the LA Times. "Council members said they were largely swayed by the stream of cash that the deal will deliver to the city at a time when the economic downturn has forced budget cuts and fee increases." According to the paper, hearings will now be held to consider design plans. Fun times! [LA Times]
