Pacific Palisades Loves Itself Some New Mediterranean

New, 33 comments

The air in the Pacific Palisades! That's the stuff. And considering how little new construction goes on around here, check out Villa Bella, a project at 16123 W. Sunset. But it was a bitch to get the 21-unit building approved, Alon Zakoot, the developer tells us. Locals worried about traffic, worried about the design. We can imagine. Anyhoo, who is moving in? "An Australian couple bought one of the penthouses as a vacation home." And why so much Mediterranean new construction in LA? "It's popular with buyers. Warm colors, the climate, etc." Of the 21 homes, 16 are sold, and the final ones were just reduced. The prices range from $869,000 for a 1,309-square-foot two-bedroom to $1.489 million for the 2,091-square-foot penthouse (both in gallery).
