Like a young duckling trying to find its mother, this Target shopping cart knew to travel to the site of developer CIM's Mid-Town Crossing project, that planned retail project (a Lowes is coming) in mid-city. As previously noted, Phase II was delayed; in June, it was reported that the Community Redevelopment Agency recommended that the City Council help pay to finish the project. A planner at the Community Redevelopment Agency tells us that CIM will break ground on the project "by the end of the year"; more details weren't immediately available. That June Times article also mentioned that this area could be designated a sign district to help drum up revenue. Meanwhile, taggers are doing some nice work decorating the CIM sign.
