It looks like Flickr user Targophoto.com dove into one of the under-construction 405 carpool lanes near Venice and emerged with some pretty stunning shots. Nice work. His whole set is here. Also, Caltrans sent us the latest photos (after jump) of the $167 million HOV project (now expected to be done in summer 2009, according to a rep). She writes: "The first photo is I-405, northbound between Venice Boulevard and Palm. The second one is northbound I-405 south of Venice Boulevard. Both involve soundwall and carpool lane construction."
