View From A Loft reports that the Platinum Gentlemen's Club, an age 18 and up club, opened earlier this month at Vignes and Commercial in Little Tokyo. According to the blog, this space was originally supposed to house a Penthouse Media Group-backed club called the "Little Tokyo Showgirls," but the owners bailed out amid attempts to sue the city over a revoked liquor license. Residents in the Little Tokyo and Arts District communities had previously rallied against "Showgirls"; on the plus side, this news should cheer up local downtown men who fear losing their hostess clubs.
