Today, the County Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance holding taggers and their guardians liable for civil damages, a move that ultimately allows the county to sue taggers and their parents/guardians to recover costs of a clean-up. . According to KNBC, the average cost of removing or painting over graffiti is $522 per attack, while all this anti-graffiti work is costing taxpayers $665 per offender. This move follows a recently passed laws that makes taggers not only clean up their work, but in some cases, keep the tagged surfaces clean for a year. [KNBC]
