From Steve Hymon's Los Angeles Times transit blog: In an attempt to prod the state legislature into getting the half-cent transit sales tax on the November ballot, Mayor Villaraigosa pulled out the big guns—shiny, colorful maps that illustrate employment, population, and transit density in 2030. The diagrams make a point; the job density in the Wilshire Corridor and Century City will be thick, justifying the subway to the sea. But the most powerful pro-tax argument may be the illustration of our future freeway congestion sans any transit or road improvements. It looks a bit like fiery hell. All images via LATimes.com
