As Hollywood and Koreatown continue their building streaks, the city's Community Redevelopment Agency is pinpointing historic homes and structures in those areas to ensure their preservation, the Los Angeles Times' Bob Pool reports. Westlake/MacArthur Park will also get the looky-loo from survey teams, but it seems the bulk of the preservation efforts will be in Hollywood, where buildings built before 1964 will be highlighted. Naysayers are questioning the sincerity of the preservation, saying city officials are simultaneously rushing to build condos and modernize the area. Fun fact: the preservation effort is being led by Jenna Snow, who worked on similar missions in post-Katrina New Orleans.
