The LA Time's Steve Lopez reports on one family's dealing with the City's inflexible bureaucracy as they try to spruce up their business. In order to keep taggers at bay, they hired a team of local artists to paint a mural on their business. It worked! But the City threatened to fine them over the illegal "signage" and eventually brought a team out to paint over the mural. As you can imagine, outrage and tagging ensue. [LA Times]
