This week we're taking a look at the construction along the Wilshire Corridor, between the 405 Freeway and Los Angeles Country Club. We'll refrain from calling this stretch the Golden Mile, as we can't handle the abuse from the comments. Yesterday, we looked at the The Carlyle on Wilshire.
If you guessed that Ashton Westwood was the name of one of Toronto's most stylishly dressed and eligible bachelors, you would be right. But you would also be wrong, because Ashton Westwood is also the name of a six story, 64-unit condo building in the Wilshire Corridor currently under construction. The development from The Hanover Company, developers of the Wilshire Skyline project (discussed earlier), Downtown's Hanover Tower (aka 717 Olympic), and the Wilshire Margot (a few blocks away), is nothing but a hole in the ground at this point. Renderings of the project in black and white are online via the City Planning web site, which we conveniently uploaded as part of the picture gallery. However, we were unable to locate color renderings on The Hanover Co. web site or on the web site for the architects, GMP Architects-LA. It appears the building will resemble the Wilshire Margot, in that completely non-offensive architecture sort of way. No opening date announced, but we're guessing Spring 2010.
