Rumblings & Bumblings: Construction in North University Park

Thank you to the magical few who submitted a question this week. If you have an answer in regards to one of these fine questions, please leave a comment or email us at la@curbed.com. Answers Thursday.

1) North University Park: We visited the site for this question to snap some pictures. "On Vermont, just north of USC, there's two construction sites around 28th Street. One is a really ugly wood framed structure and the other is just a foundation with a handmade sign stuck in the ground at one corner of the property. Any idea what's going in these buildings?"

2) Pico-Union: Another Vermont Avenue question! "Ok, I gotta know... every weekend on Vermont, between 11th and 12th, there's a huge backup of cars trying to get into the parking lot of a strip mall. I've lived in LA six years, and every weekend the right lane is blocked off with cars idling to get in. What the f* is so special about that strip mall that people are lined up for a block? Is it a church? A dim sum place? If you look at Google street view, you can even see cars lined up in the picture!" (picture after the jump)
