As a growing number of LA commuters embrace the bicycle, the city adjusts with mixed results, says the Wall Street Journal's Rhonda Rundle. Pointing out screaming drivers and a dearth of bike lanes, Rundle lionizes the brave bikers of our city. She also brings up the Mandeville Canyon accident in Brentwood, where two bikers were injured—one severely—after a doctor allegedly stopped short in a fit of road rage. (Coincidentally, the doctor pleaded innocent today.) One thing about this article bugs though: Rundle's reference to LA as home to the nation's most entrenched car culture. Journalists, it may be time to put that tired assertion to rest. What about places like Phoenix, Houston, and Vegas? [Wall Street Journal]
