Ask Curbed: Why Does Real Estate Hurt My Brain?

New, 12 comments

Why, indeed. Even the process of buying a foreclosed property seems too complicated. "Dear Curbed: Why does the real estate negotiation process suck? This whole business of presenting an offer, waiting three days, getting a counter, waiting three days, being told there are other buyers, presenting another counter, waiting three days, waiting another three days, and wondering what the hell happened when you hear nothing is totally asinine. Is it the realtors who came up with this idiotic waste of time? Why can't the seller and I (or our realtors) just sit down and haggle it out over five hours, like at the Toyota dealer?"
