Per the official Curbed measuring ruler, it can be reported that the weeds at 9th and Grand are now topping out at 11 feet. The ones in the middle of the lot may be taller. Back in May, this lot--owned by New York-based developer Chetrit and once the home of old friend Downtown Dog-- was simply a ravine, but neglect has now resulted in a jungle. According to Charles, the nice guy holding the measuring tape (he's a downtown resident), there was a sign on the fence last week, ordering the removal of the weeds. Assuming the city posted the sign? Bring on the weed whackers. And uhm, what about that hotel ground-breaking, Chetrit?
