It's a bitch to get fresh vegetables in some parts of this city, but one company is looking to donate "wall farms" to Skid Row. "The vertical walls stand six feet by 30 feet, and are made of 45 “soil-bearing, irrigated vertical trays,” each approximately four feet deep. Each wall will have the capacity to generate as much as 400 pounds of fruits and vegetables...wall farms have apparently not been installed yet, but plans call for one at a school in the area, and another at a local residential facility, according to the report in Fortune Small Business." It would seem it's all part of this project. [Garment & Citizen]
