"At least LA still has some semblance of bohemian culture. The era of urban bohemia in NY and SF has passed. There is no counter culture in NY or SF and real estate is well into long term recovery in those cities. LA still has hoods resembling the LES of the early 90s." A comment in response to Arthur magazine founder Jay Babcock's diatribe against LA (he calls it a "psychic death hole"). Also, NY less expensive than LA? No way. [LA Times]
