On the Racked: Parking Meters Wrapped, iPhone Lines (Still), Three-L.A. At Standard Downtown

New, 7 comments

The latest store info and sidewalk scenes from street-obsessed Racked LA, the newest member of the Curbed family.

FAIRFAX: Some parking meters get bejeweled, others get wrapped. Streetwear label and shop Alife on Fairfax has styled the meter in front of its shop to a stickered state of Alife-ness. "That's what you call a quick, easy and cheap marketing/advertising/branding job," writes Racked LA. How about turning some of these meters over to local LA artists?

LOS ANGELES: Fresh today, the latest from the city's iPhone lines: "The Grove Apple Store: "Limited stock of all models. "There is a line and we suggest if you're going to come down, you come now." Beverly Center Apple Store: Black 8 gig and white 16 gig are in stock. "This is the shortest line I've seen—it's maybe 1/2 hour or 45 minutes right now."

DOWNTOWN: Location: Rooftop at The Standard Hotel Downtown. What it was: Three-L.A.’s second launch, the Alexandria Collection. Review: "The simple addition of multiple buttons—which made the whole collection less seventies and more sailor-y—gave new life to the high-waisted denim trend." Swanky.
