Remember that story about a Lakewood couple having to live with a 93-foot, 13-ton Southern California Edison electric pole in front of their house? Among other things, there was some worry the pole would cause a drop in their home's value. The two parties came to an agreement and the pole will be replaced with an electric pole about 20 feet shorter and 9 inches narrower, reports the Press-Telegram's Samantha Gonzaga. "I'm happy that they're taking that big pole out of the front of the house," said Shelby Ranson. "Of course, I'd rather it be replaced by another wooden pole in the same location, but I guess this is the best possible solution. ... It's a compromise." [Press Telegram]
