Questions From A Bitter Renter: Is Highland Park Headed Towards Degentrification?

New, 55 comments

And so we continue on with the five questions posted earlier this week by reader Bitter Renter. Here is his fourth question. From what we remember from real estate night school, up-and-coming, gentrifying areas always historically get hit hardest during a downtown, but will that be the case here? "Is the El Sereno/Highland Park/Washington Heights [Ed: Mt. Washington?] area going to continue to gentrify? Or are the city budget cuts and economic downturn going to cause them to de-gentrify as Las Avenidas and friends have more members and fewer deterrents?" [Image via Susan Catherine]
