Gallery Row's New Signage Will Help Herd Downtowners

New, 14 comments

While there are a couple of existing Gallery Row signs, say hello to this new design. All part of a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) project, these signs will be attached to 25 street light poles around Main and Spring from 2nd to 9th. And yes, the basic idea is to alert people to the galleries' presence, says Erik Qvale, cultural arts consultant with the CRA. At the end of the month, the signs will start the city permitting process and if all goes well, they'll be up by the fall or end of year. Bonus fun fact: Because of restrictions about how heavy the signs can be, these signs are made of honeycomb aluminum.
