Recently added to YouTube, this collection of vintage footage of LA in the late 1940s and early 1950s features Grauman's, the Brown Derby, Warner's movie theater, and a few other landmarks -- one or two are even still extant. Shocking! The second half of the clip, featuring J. Edgar Hoover and Bertolt Brecht testifying before the House Un-American Activities Committee, is a little baffling, but the first minute and half are pretty priceless.
