First aloft Hotel by W in the United States Opens in HavenPark
Hileman Company Signs Restaurants Dickey's Barbecue and Farmer Boys to Leases
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. -- The first Starwood aloft Hotel by W in the United States has opened at HavenPark, a $60 million master planned mixed use development in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. developed by The Hileman Company LLC.
The aloft is the newest brand under the flag of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT). The 136-room aloft Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga is one of 18 aloft hotels scheduled to open this year and 88 announced internationally.
Guest rooms at the aloft Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga feature loft-like nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows. Each aloft room includes a high-tech office and entertainment center, featuring wireless Internet access and plug & play, a one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic gadgetry such as PDAs, cell phones, mp3 players and laptops - all linked to a large, flat-panel HDTV-ready television.
The John Buck Company from Chicago purchased the land from The Hileman Company and developed the aloft in a joint venture with Interstate Hotels, which will manage the property under a long-term management agreement.
The Hileman Company also announced that Dallas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the fastest growing fast casual barbeque chain in the country and local award-winning burger chain Farmer Boys will open restaurants later this year at HavenPark's retail center after signing long-term leases. Dickey's and Farmer Boys are the first two restaurant leases signed for the 22,000 square foot retail space at the project. The Hileman Company is also marketing the last remaining component of the project, a high-profile corner restaurant pad at Haven Avenue and 4th Street targeted for an upscale lunch/dinner restaurant of up to 7,500 square feet.
Located off of Interstate 10 near the Ontario International Airport, HavenPark's first buildings opened July 2007. In addition to the hotel and retail center, HavenPark also includes150,000 square feet of Class A office space in twin buildings that opened 100 percent leased last summer. HavenPark's 11-acre high profile location in the Ontario International Airport submarket was master planned as a self contained mixed use business center to attract corporate users.
