On the Market: Your Very Own Historic Hotel

New, 17 comments

The curious block long building at the corner of Melrose and Wilton is up for sale. We'd always thought it was an apartment building. We were wrong. Dead wrong. According to the Loopnet listing, the Tudor-style building is "a 62-room vacant Registered National Historic Landmark formerly owned by Paramount Studios with a Certificate of Occupancy as a Hotel Building." Hmm, a hotel at Melrose and Wilton isn't exactly an ideal use for that particular neighborhood. Perhaps they can combine all the palm readers and tarot card ladies from the three block radius into this one building. There's your business model. Asking Price: $14.9 million.
