Downtown News Adds New Sign, A Dot Com

New, 11 comments

Last night, the Downtown News building on First Street got a new marquee. And check out the "dot com." Sign of the times? "It is a sign of the times, inherent pun observed," Sue Laris, editor and publisher of the newspaper, wrote in an email to Curbed. The downtown paper, which launched in 1972, actually got three new signs (the other two are on the sides of the building), while a new web site is tentatively scheduled to launch in August. Next up: Downtowners can expect to see Tribune Company owner Sam Zell order staffers to carve out a "dot com" on the Los Angeles Times' Spring Street building.
