Santa Monica's Lookout News reports that yesterday the Assembly Committee passed a resolution urging the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to respect Santa Monica’s ban on large jets. The airport and the FAA are in a legal tussle concerning both jets and safety issues (homes are close to the runways) at Santa Monica Airport. Meanwhile, the Santa Monica Mirror reported last week that FAA is now threatening the Blue Buses: "The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has threatened to go to the Department of Transportation in an effort to cut off all federal transportation funding to the City of Santa Monica, including money for roads and the Big Blue Bus, said Mayor Pro Tem Richard Bloom at the annual meeting of the Friends of Sunset Park (FOSP) on Saturday, June 14."
