Curbed Reader Comment Round-Up

New, 9 comments

The best posts usually originate in our comments. To give appreciation to our amazing (and sometimes angry) commenters we feature their broad strokes of wisdom in a tidy comment roundup.

1) LA Magazine Loves Downtown, Los Angeles Loves...Pink's "Here in LA if the light turns green and you don't immediately go the guy behind you will blare his horn. That same guy will stand in line for an hour to get a subpar hot dog at Pinks. I don't get it."

2) Visualizing The Grand On A Busy Saturday "We're talking about a development in the middle of a dense high rise district. Not some outlying area like Glendale. This project could and I feel should be even denser and taller....It's nonsense to complain about height of a project in the middle of highrises."

3) Capital of the Poor "It's too easy to scapegoat illegal immigrants for poverty and economic imbalance. How about entitlement cuts, corporate kickbacks, and the over-privatization of our country? They factor much more heavily into national poverty than illegal aliens."

4. Where the Hipsters Are Buying: "I've noticed Eagle Rock become more and more of a lesbian neighborhood--not exactly the "hipsters" being discussed in the [Variety] article but still different from the blue collar hold outs. Does anyone know if the lesbians are as good for property values as the gay males and the hipsters are? I sure hope so because they are moving in in droves!"
