Broker BlogWrap: Pools and Shoes

New, 5 comments

It's another edition of our irregularly scheduled look inside the blogs of our realtor friends. If you're a SoCal Realtor with a blog we should be reading, drop us a line.

1) Selling Real Estate is Like Selling Shoes: Realtor/busty-nerd Poppy Dinsey of London (claiming residence in Anaheim for purposes of blogging on ActiveRain) explains why Zappos shoes should be a good model for realtors. "Zappos are contactable 24/7, if you have a problem with your order at 4am then a real life person in Vegas is happily waiting to help you. It’s not feasible or necessary for an estate agent to be contactable around the clock 365 days a year, but it shouldn’t be a battle for a tenant/buyer/seller to get hold of one." [Poppy Dinsey-ActiveRain]

2) Pool Weather: Phyllis at the LA Real Estate Blog gives a timely tip on selling your home. Build a pool. "Many home buyers in the $1.5 million+ range insist on a pool and won’t look at a home that doesn’t have pool potential (room for a pool)... In addition, an outdoor barbecue area or in certain price ranges the outdoor kitchen go hand in hand with the pool. " [LAREB]

3) Realtor's 15 Minutes: Realtor Chris Hain was interviewed for the Meghan Daum piece on real estate in the Times. What else did he say? "I explained to her the wave of foreclosures hitting the markets hasn't lessened. In fact, May was a record for foreclosures and ARM resets don't peak until the early fall. So the rest of this year is still going to see a lot of new foreclosures hitting the market." [Terra Firma LA]
