Las Lomas Developer Sues

This was expected: Dan S. Palmer Jr, the developer of the proposed Las Lomas development filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles on Monday to "jump-start the stalled project and recoup $100 million in alleged damages," reports the Daily News. The proposed project--on 555-acres between Santa Clarita and the city of Los Angeles--would have added roughly 5,500 units, 2.7 million square feet of office, retail and community space and a 300-room hotel. Even though Las Lomas is not even within the city's jurisdiction, City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo had previously noted that blocking Las Lomas could lead to a legal showdown because the city "had already accepted fees from the developer in 2002 and had spent years processing the project reviews."
