A Superior Court judge has ruled that plans to make Pico and Olympic Boulevards in West LA "behave like one-way streets" during rush hour cannot go forward without a study, reports the Los Angeles Times. That's a blow to Mayor Villaraigosa and Councilman Jack Weiss who were pushing forward the move. The traffic plan would have removed curbside parking, a move that incensed local merchants, who ended up suing the city. Work on altering the streets was to begin this week; a study could take anywhere from 6 months to a year. Until then, try Venice. [LA Times]
