Looks Like Beverly Hills Waldorf-Astoria/Hilton Project On Ballot

New, 9 comments

Yes, as they had threatened to do, Beverly Hills residents came out to fight that proposed new Waldorf-Astoria/Hilton renovation, delivering signatures yesterday to the Beverly Hills City Hall to get a referendum on the November ballot. LAist.com stopped by and got photos of the march to City Hall and reports that 3,200 signatures were received, more than the necessary number, while the Beverly Hills Courier reports that "Larry Larson, the committee’s treasurer, said the group had raised a 'sufficient amount of signatures to qualify for the ballot.'" Opponents fear traffic and congestion as a result of the project; citing a recent poll, the developer tells the Courier the majority of the residents want the project. [Image via Laist.com]
