That drab Hollywood/WeHo stretch of Fairfax between Melrose and Santa Monica will soon be alive with the sounds of condo-dwellers slurping coffee and chattering about the market, thanks to the under construction developments of 801 North and Cherokee Lofts. Progress is moving swiftly on both, with 801 North moving ahead on its build-out of 93 luxury units and 15,880 square feet of retail space. At 751 N. Fairfax is the eco-friendly Cherokee Lofts—separated from 801 North by a Shorty's hair salon—that will boast 12 residential lofts (two with recording studios) and 2,800 square feet of retail. Both developments should be coming online next year.
