As previously noted in AM linkage, Angelo Mozilo, Chairman of Calabasas-based mortgage company Countrywide, accidentally hit "reply all" in response to an email from Dan Bailey, a North Carolina photographer who'd emailed the executive--as well as numerous other Countrywide execs--to ask if he could modify the terms of his loan to avoid foreclosure. Mozilo's email response: ""This is unbelievable. Most of these letters now have the same wording. Obviously they are being counseled by some other person or by the Internet. Disgusting." The full email exchange is here. According to the Los Angeles Times, Countrywide sent out an statement later in the day, apologizing for the incident. Curbed spoke briefly on the phone to Mr. Bailey this morning, who said he is not at liberty to discuss the matter. But we're guessing Mr. Bailey will be able to refinance his loan just the way he wants now. [LoanSafe.org]
