Downtown's First United Methodist Church is planning a lofty new house of worship—their old building was demo-ed in 2002—on their plot of land at Flower and Olympic, reports the Downtown News. If all goes as planned, a 14-story mixed-use rental tower will go up next to the church; both buildings would be developed by David Houk, the guy behind the Park Fifth mega-project. It'll be at least three years before we see bulldozers, but First United's minister Sandie Richards tells the DN, "the great cathedrals of Europe took over 100 years to build." Nice!
