— As our East Coast sibling reported just a bit ago, congestion pricing (charging drivers) has bit the big one in the New York legislature—there simply wasn't enough votes. Lest we forget, our congested metropolis is considering the same thing for solo drivers in the carpool lanes of the 10, 110, and 210 freeways. NYC has lost out on over $350 million in grants from the feds for traffic mitigation and mass transit. Could NY's loss be LA's gain? [NY Times]
