PASADENA: New architectural paintings by David Jonason debut at Michael Hollis Gallery on April 27th. The show, called “Bungalows & Roses," looks at the neighborhoods and homes of Pasadena. "With its broad porches, field stone and dark woods, the bungalow was the symbol of the California good life to an Easterner of modest means in the ‘20s,” Jonason says. “I think the image of the bungalow, surrounded by orange trees and climbing roses, are as iconic to Pasadena as Georgia O’Keefe’s mesas and cow skulls are to New Mexico.” [InBox]
