The LA Weekly's Christine Pelisek wanted a list of the city's 11,000 legal and illegal billboards but instead of complying, LA officials alerted billboard operator Clear Channel (which profits heartily from the jumbo ads) that the paper was seeking the information, according to the Weekly. Clear Channel tried to stop the weekly newspaper from getting the list, claiming it was proprietary info, not public. Well, yesterday a judge disagreed. [LA Weekly]
