On the Racked: Silver Lake's Ivanhoe Books, Romp On 3rd Street, Ralph Lauren on Robertson

The latest store info, retail gossip and sidewalk scenes from street-obsessed Racked LA, the newest member of the Curbed family.

SILVER LAKE: Racked LA stops by Ivanhoe Books, located in the back room of furniture and design store Lawson-Fenning on Silver Lake Boulevard, where the emphasis is on-- as you might imagine-- art, architecture, fashion, and graphic design. You'll find new and vintage books, all found from estate sales, auctions, swap meets and other places. Lovely, lovely!.

WEST 3RD: The Romp boutique, which sells the odd-sounding "sustainable luxe leather" recently threw a very interesting party in a very dim space, leading to some confusion, reports Racked LA. "We can tell you we were partial to the fringed heels and the leather was incredibly soft to the touch; we weren't partial to the splayed mannequins, which were oddly hard to differentiate from the live models." Try and tell the difference for yourself.

ROBERTSON BOULEVARD: Checking in with the new Ralph Lauren plywood on Robertson Boulevard, we learn that the new store will be a whopping 10,900 square feet and be "aimed at a younger customer who likes to mix brands and may not shop at the Rodeo store or even know that much about the brand." Who is Ralph Lauren?
